THE STORY BEHIND “SENA SOLAR”
The great flood in 2011 left thousands of Thais strained as their homes flooded for months. The damage was immeasurable and hundreds of lives have been changed forever. With the hope to restore the country back to its former glorious state as the land of smile, Thai government spent a hefty budget on flood recovery and rehabilitation...
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kessara Thanyalakpark, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SENA Development Public Company Limited, recognizing the difficulties facing the villagers in SENA’s villages, helped them and their families during the flood. She soon realized that these difficulties are in fact extremely relevant to our everyday lives. …“This flood is unlike others before”...
Natural resources have been destroyed by human hands and the effects that follow have finally caught up with us as we witness how the damage takes its toll on us and our society. Yet, we are the ones who are responsible forcoming up with the solution.
The time has come for us to join hands in preserving natural
resources before it’s too late
And what can we do?
We are destroying natural resources as we are harvesting
Does clean, renewable energy that doesn’t exploit nature exist?”
And how can we harvest such energy for everyday usage?
WHEN NATURE TAKES REVENGE
It is undeniable that global warming is one of the major causes for the current “unpleasant climate” condition in Thailand, particularly in Bangkok metropolitan area. Humans have long been the major contributor to the development of “global warming” and this might be the time where naturestarts to warm up her counter-punches. What can we do from now on?
We cannot change the past. But we can start changing what we do todayin order to create a better future.
Find an alternative energy was the answer we got on that day, And SENA Solar was born from that moment on. As the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SENA Development Public Company Limited, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kessara Thanyalakpark has been searching for an alternative energy for the villages in order to help hold back the act of destroying nature at a domestic level. The idea is to provide each village with its own source of clean, renewable energy without having to exploits the world of its natural resources. Hopefully, this will become the trend that spreads from one house to another, one village to another, and eventually throughout the whole country.
Consequently, “Solar Rooftop” was born. Since then, we have dedicated our time and energy in research and development of our solar technology, creating a complete professional product and service that you see today.
Sunlight is the source of energy for
all living things on earth
WHAT IS SOLAR ENERGY?
As Thais living in Thailand, we are familiar with the abundant sunshine and boiling heat from the Sun. On a particular sunny day, we might even hear people say “The Sun is so strong. What a waste!”
Plant collect energy from the sun and animals harvest energy from the plants. Over time the animals died, decomposed and turned into fossil fuels. Still, the biggest problem that we’re facing today is the fact that such energy are running out fast. However, solar energy doesn’t seem to be experiencing the same problem. The sun is shining as strong as ever. Especially for us living in Thailand, sunshine, as well as the heat that come with it, is something we are very familiar with.
HOW CAN WE CONVERT SOLAR POWER TO RENEWABLE ENERGY?
Converting solar power to renewable energy is not an entirely new concept for the more developed countries. For Thailand, SENA Development Public Company Limited is the first to turn such idea into reality, starting with its own villages. The company’s commitment and dedication to the concept has earned trust and acceptance for solar energy from the members who allows for solar modules to be installed on their rooftops.
New terminology and technology urges us to conduct even more research, based on the vision that we had since the very beginning. The purpose is to equip every village under SENA Development Public Company Limited with its own solar modules on the rooftops of every house, every condominiums. Members will be educated on the concept of converting solar power to renewable energy so that everybody will be able to harvest and benefit from the technology in the most efficient way, from both the modules in their own home and their villages.
